Description
This is a very rare DIY PUNK / SYNTH single by the UK band WHAT IS OIL from 1982. AN ORIGINAL, AND A MUST !!!.
The single is the ULTIMATE in DIY PUNK release with numbered fold over sleeve stamped and stickered labels, and even hand written notes from the band.
The sound reminds me of early CABARET VOLTAIRE with tape loops, synth, and everything but the kitchen sink !!!
This single came out on the band's own OOF POTATO ENTERPRISES Records, and should be featured on one of the H2O type compilations if it hasn't already, a true DIY PUNK CLASSIC !!!
The single does not come up for sale very often.
The single came out in 1982 on the band's own OOF POTATO ENTERPRISES RECORDS, catalogue number OOF BEAT 1, a rare find and an ORIGINAL pressing !!!
This copy is numbered 128 on the front, so could be as little as 200 copies pressed, there is also a hand written note on the inside sleeve "IT'S ART YOU F***ING T*RD !" a truw DIY PUNK spirit !!!
The songs are: HUMAN SUFFERING / MR. MOLE / GREEN DRAINPIPE / SCROSH!.
The single comes with the home made wrap around numbered sleeve, and The condition of the VINYL is Mint- (PLAYED ONCE), WARP AROUND NUMBERED P/S M-.
Don't let this copy pass you as you will not find another copy of this killer DIY PUNK single very soon.
