Hey kids! Check THIS out…
The “Surprise Package Vol. 2” comp 7-inch came out in 1998, and was only the band's THIRD RELEASE EVER!!! (After the two Italy 45s, natch.) Features decent songs by Rocket 455 and the Blowtops, but that ain't really the point, now is it?
The big deal is that this 45 also features the killer “CANDY CANE CHILDREN” by THE WHITE STRIPES!!! Amazing song, and an amazingly RARE and cool record.
Issued by kick-ass Detroit-area garage label, Flying Bomb, this came on either red or black vinyl, with only 250 copies pressed of each (100 gray vinyl copies repressed in 2001). This is a RED VINYL copy, and there are only 249 others like it in the whole dang world!
It was bought new in 1998, and has been played VERY rarely (6 or 7 times, max). I'm not a professional record evaluator, but I'd say it's in EXCELLENT shape. Clean, no noise, no visible wear. Maybe not truly mint, but close enough for listening purposes. Fold-out cover is undamaged.
