This is the rarest version of the first Whitney Houston album, her self-titled 1985 classic on Arista AL-8-8212. This is the true very first edition, pressed with no name on the cover! Only a few copies were ever printed this way, as I understand it, and they were never actually for sale. I think the idea was to have a sticker on the shrink, and keep the cover plain.  After these first few were printed they quickly added the name, and never allowed this version to be commercially available. I have only seen one other copy, and heard about maybe one or two more. It is extremely rare. The cover has slight texturing and is even somewhat lightly embossed, with the picture a little bit indented, and smooth, unlike the border of the cover. Anyhow all the other elements are the same. This is a TML first pressing, with all the same info and graphics on the back cover as the usual release. Anyhow the disc is very nearly perfectly mint and plays flawlessly and just beautifully. The cover does have slight wear, with a few scuffs and a little edge crease near the bottom of the right side. Also a slight corner ding at the lower left, but all this is quite minor. The cover is really in lovely condition, and you will probably never see another. A top original rarity.
