VINCENT LOPEZ - pianist, stalwart bandleader - future employer of Betty Hutton! - had a great and vastly popular band for about thirty years (1920 - 1950). He was one of the people who kept Paul Whiteman on the alert!
On this very peppy record, Lopez assays the George Gershwin song, from "Tell Me More," "WHY DO I LOVE YOU?" It's a "Gershwin Tune" that NOBODY loved, apparently, for this is one of the few records of it, and it never was revived. "SING-LOO," on the flip, is yet another bit of Chinoiserie, an "Oriental Fox Trot," of which the public seemed never to tire.
This original 1925 maroon OKeh 40370 is largely in clean EE- condition, except for a couple of pits on "Why."
