TITLE:         "WHY MARCH WHEN YOU CAN RIOT?"
FORMAT: …vinyl LP…
LABEL:         Aberrant
CATALOGUE #:  YPRX-2311

Bruce Griffiths' three LP compilations of early 80's Sydney punk on his Aberrant Records label ("FLOWERS FROM THE DUSTBIN", "NOT SO HUMDRUM", and "WHY MARCH WHEN YOU CAN RIOT?") remain the yardsticks that any compilation of ANY sort of music could be judged...there is more passion and commitment to documenting in great detail, complete with a sense of the history, and great foresight in their making, than you'll find in ANY other collection or revision of a given scene that I've ever encountered...the covers of these LPs are phenomenal...loaded as they are with as many photos of the bands and the local punk scene as he could possibly squeeze in without compromising quality. Then there's all the lyrics, and the band details/stories, pix of posters, etc.

Unbeatable.

Naturally the content is 100% snotty and/or melodic punk stuff...of an internationally comparative highest order!

Original Australian pressing….recorded 1977 - 1985, and released in November 1985, in one edition of 1285 numbered copies (this is #1228)...the cover on this comprises two huge double-sided foldout posters, with TWO amazing Sydney punk family trees - documenting such legendary bands as the PSYCHO-SURGEONS, SOCKET SET, the BEDSPREADS, XL CAPRIS, X, GOVERNMENT DOWNFALL,JOHNNY DOLE AND THE SCABS, FILTH, TOMMY AND THE DIPSTICKS,  BROKEN TOYS, the LIPSTICK KILLERS, URBAN GUERILLAS (not the Adelaide band), BOX OF FISH, SARDINE v, PROGRESSION CULT...and more...there's also interviews with each of the bands on this LP (except for Beggars Court), a story on each band, loads of pix of each of them, lyrics to all the songs, and a great full page of memory-rattling posters and handbills. Awesome.

Tracks are:

Johnny Dole and the Scabs - Living Like An Animal, Psychoanalyst, Stuff Your Rules
XL Capris - Skylab (Son Of Telstar)
The Hard-Ons - School Days, Squat House, Coffs Harbour Blues
Bedspreads - Face The Facts, Judge Dredd
X - Home Is Where The Floor Is, Hate City, TV Cabaret Roll
Beggars Court - Chemical Slave, 3 Minute Warning, Lipstick Blues
Feedtime - Don't Tell Me, Small Talk
Local Product - Die Hard, Pig Boys, Magenta

CONDITION: (cover/record): (MINT/MINT) ...it's completely untouched/unplayed....vinyl has that factory shine you just wish ALL you records had...the very mint-est of mint (a big call, but a true one)...

If you have any concerns about the accuracy of my gradings, please check my feedback for the odd nice comment from some satisfied folk out there.... (and hopefully you may be able to join their ranks).

You can pay in US$'s or UK pounds or Australian dollars

Thanks for considering this item. Best of luck if you decide to bid...Cheers, Jules.

PAYMENT

OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA:
You can pay by: 1. Money Order (you'll need to add a US$4 exchange fee for a Western Union m/o or a US Postal m/o ; or a US$8 exchange fee for any other non-Australian dollar money order)
.. .. ..or.. .. ..
2. CASH (MUST be in a registered envelope..ONLY)
.. .. ..or.. .. ..
3. via Western Union Auction Payments (WUAP...was Bidpay) (you need to add a US$4 exchange fee for payments via WUAP/Bidpay)
.. .. ..OR.. .. ..
4. Paypal..easiest and cheapest way is to just use your normal account and select to pay in AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS, in which case there are no extra fees...BUT...if you wamt to pay in UK pounds (GBP) or U.S. dollars (US$)..you should know that Paypal unfortunately (for us all), charge we here in Australia, a hidden exchange rate fee which equates to 7% (.. ..it WAS originally 14%, then 11% u3ntil early Dec.2002); so it's not as bad as it was, and still a tad cheeky and unfair (this is NOT to be confused with their normal fees, which I will, of course, pay for); but, all the same, IF you’re prepared to cover that 7% exchange fee,  you CAN use Paypal (it still works out cheaper [and obviously faster] than W.U.A.P.or registering cash, for any amount below about US$100 / GBP50 )..its up to you, but PLEASE don’t think I condone their business practices; the other options are there for you to use. [My alternative, otherwise, is to allow them to take that much from every item..and they do not disclose that this is what they do. If you don’t agree with covering for this (and why should you!), please do consider another option.]
IN AUSTRALIA:
Pay by Paypal (in Australian dollars...unlike for overseas currencies, there are NO extra fees to be added), Money Order, Bank Cheque, Personal Cheque (allow 5 days for clearance)...or Direct Deposit into our account (quickest method, along with Paypal).. .. ..or cash (again, MUST be in a registered envelope).
PACKING:
Don’t worry - we pack anything you buy VERY CAREFULLY to make sure it arrives in EXACTLY the condition it left here. More specifically, in the way we'd like to receive parcels ourselves.
WE MAIL OUT FROM AUSTRALIA NEARLY EVERY DAY.
