Description

THE GREAT WIDE WORLD OF QUINCY JONES –
Mercury EmArcy Series SR-60221 –
VERY RARE!

If you’re into top notch bop-oriented big bands, pull up a listening chair. This is one of the best outings in the genre, bar none.

Fact is, early Quincy is hard to beat as his corps of fine players in Art Farmer, Ernie Wilkins, Phil Woods, Al Cohn, Budd Johnson, and Lee Morgan take on LESTER LEAPS IN, GHANA, AIR MAIL SPECIAL, CHANT OF THE WEED, I NEVER HAS SEEN SNOW, and EESOM, among others. (And don’t miss CHEROKEE, as it’s one of the finest renditions  ever on LP.)

Great copy: Laminated cover without major fault, just light browning with age on back; record within should play near mint.

A classic without question, a jazz lover album with “jump.”

For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.

Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $15 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $6, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
