 This is the ORIGINAL 1st PRESSING of the Widespread Panic "Space Wrangler" LP (Landslide Records #LD-1016) 1988. Vinyl is in beautiful condition - like it was just pressed NEAR MINT, dare I say MINT, still retaining all of its shiny, glossy lustre and the labels are as if just pressed - no spindle has touched the labels - you may be the first to rest a needle on it. A fabulous vinyl copy of this CLASSIC Widespread Panic DEBUT LP from 1988! As a BONUS - the SUPER RARE ORIGINAL 2 inserts are INCLUDED (Try finding a copy with BOTH inserts!..or even one!). One of the inserts introduces the band's humble beginnings with LANDSLIDE"S bland letterhead and text; the other is a LANDSLIDE RECORD'S mail order insert to sell shirts and introduce new releases. The COVER'S chaotic shifty cover IMAGE suggests something is in the air and in 1988 there was, as one of the inserts states - "There is a new sound coming from the thriving music scene of Athens, Georgia.." It highlights the members meeting at the University of Georgia...setting up shop in an old house, etc. The band was being pitched with this insert from a small time record label that believed in the band and was trying to get others to do the same - this copy is a piece of musical history for the PASSIONATE fan!.

Widespread Panic is an American rock band from Athens, Georgia. The current lineup includes guitarist/singer John Bell, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Todd Nance, percussionist Domingo "Sunny" Ortiz, keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann, and guitarist Jimmy Herring. Michael Houser and George McConnell have also played lead guitar for the band.

Since their inception in Athens, Georgia, in 1986, Widespread Panic has risen to elite status among American jam bands.[1] Following in the steps of other Southern rock jam bands such as The Allman Brothers, they have influences from the Southern rock, blues-rock, progressive rock, funk and hard rock genres. They are frequently compared to other jam band "road warriors" such as the Grateful Dead and Phish.[2] Widely renowned for their live performances, as of 2010, they hold the record for number of sold-out performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, Colorado) at 35 and Philips Arena (Atlanta, Georgia) at 17.

It is interesting to note a bit of IRONY here about this nowadays highly-sought after LP - this particular copy was a cut-out, indicated by the corner being slightly clipped - a mark that adds a little more history to an iconic release -- pointing out that the place where this copy initially surfaced possibly suffered poor sales at the time of release which happens sometimes when a band is too far ahead of their time like this band.
