PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over 18,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Hard to find original 1968 first pressing VINYL of the first album by the Los Angeles California hard guitar garage psych trio, THE HOOK ...
If you dig the sounds of CREAM meets the JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCE, check into "The HOOK Will Grab You" === these cats turn on the power fuzz guitar into cool psych heaviness...overloaded with Eric Clapton & Jimi styles, sometimes even directly "borrowed" solos built into their own works -- whatever, sure sounds great... this is Bobby Arlin, the ex-LEAVES guitarist, really cutting loooose!
This sounds along the lines of "Are You Experienced?" meets "Diraeli Gears"... THE HOOK "Will Grab You" is consistently heavy, in a very consistently early Hendrix kind of way. Nice. The fuzz sounds a lot cleaner than Blue Cheer's debut. This is a very under-rated album, although collectors have caught on ~ beware of the last minute sniper on this one, several cats really want this album!
The only way anybody might not like this is if they don't care for heaviness, and/or they put a high priority on vocals/lyrics. Sure, there are some crazy "flower power" lyrics (it's hard to pay attention with all that heavy fuzz guitar), and the vocals often have a sarcastic/joking intonation, but that really has nothing to do with the appeal of the heavy rock displayed...

CONDITION: The Cover: rated: M- TOPS in original factory cellophane ...is ALL very solid and NOT with wear usually found (IF found at all.) There are no delete marks, NO seam splits, no bending, no writing...but does have a delete drill (see ohoto) ...the back cover almost always shows shelf wear = this copy is extremely CLEAN. to warrant top level status without the need to hunt for an expensive upgrade.
The Vinyl: is all glossy both sides - totally CLEAN M- (mint) with no marks and clean UNI labels = be for sure = will play excellent TOP LEVEL with no distractions
