PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. '60s BEATROCK GUITAR RAVER GEM ALA EASYBEATS
THE TWILIGHTS
\ AUSTRALIA - MFP - 8129
VERY CLEAN, but ages old vintage '60s pressing with laminated cover ...issued only in Australia, the very first LP, recorded in 1966, by fabulous TWILIGHTS; who released two very collectible albums...
There's no question that The Twilights ranked alongside their contemporaries The Masters Apprentices and The Easybeats and Normie Rowe & The Playboys as one of the most successful and popular Australian beatrocker acts of the 1960s, and they continue to enjoy a unique reputation in the top echelon of the Oz Rock pantheon. The Twilights have earned acclaim and respect for their formidable body of recorded work, coupled with their legendary status as arguably the most polished and accomplished Australian live act of the era. Glenn Shorrock himself remembers "Twilight Time" as the happiest and most fulfilling experience in his long and distinguished musical career. As he told an online group of fans "... my first band, The Twilights, is the band I remember most fondly; we were very close then in a very exciting period of rock & roll.
"The Hoadley's Battle of the Bands" in '66 saw the TWILIGHTS deliver a smoking set ...the prize of the winning band being full return passage to England on the Sitmar cruise line, two definite gigs and $1,000 prize money. The subsequent competitions would see such acts as The Groop and The Masters Apprentices taking out the prize, but, as in so many other instances, The Twilights were right up at the top of finish line.
Wit this their self titled first LP, The Twilights demonstrated their diversity as a recording unit. With a strong mix of self-penned tunes and tour-de-force reproductions of their stage favourites, the group's dexterity with a variety of styles was proven. A blistering version of The Yardbirds' "I'm Not Talkin' (consummately seeing off the original with a welter of raving guitar-o-batics) contrasted with the MOD tones of The Who's "La La La Lies","Let Me Go" and the thrilling harmonies of "Yes I Will". Elsewhere are tracks with the cool beatrock sound of the sixties like "Diddy Wa Diddy"...Then, just when you thought it safe, along comes a white-hot reading of the Stones' "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" to close the album in a raspy-vocalled feedback freakout! The David MacKay-produced LP showcased the band's strengths, and presented a potent document to take the nascent group into its most exciting era.
