Description

The great JOE VENUTI AND EDDIE LANG are on tap here, in their two home-grown specialties from 1928:  "WILD CAT" and "DOIN' THINGS." 

 

Venuti and Lang, of course, were the two guys who INVENTED fiddle and guitar in jazz, separately and together.  They were great in the '20s, and still are today! They were the immediate inspiration for Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelly, and the Quintette of the Hot Club of France.  

 

V & L are assisted discreetly here by the no less formidable FRANK SIGNORELLI on piano. 

 

This Victor has the original takes:  (-3) for both sides.  

 

This original 1928 "Scroll" Victor 21561 is in clean E- condition. Just a little surface haze.

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing!  My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value.  I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all.  If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will!  Shipping is done with expert care.
