WILD MAN FISCHER - An Evening With…ORIG UK Reprise/Bizarre LP RSLP 6332 (1969)
Happy to present this incredibly scarce UK press of the Wild Man’s legendary long-player, produced by Frank Zappa. THE RECORDS HERE ARE IN GREAT CONDITION BUT THE SLEEVE, ALTHOUGH PERFECTLY INTACT IS LOOKING IT’S AGE. I PRESENT IT AS AN UBER-RARE ARTIFACT FROM ZAPPA’S STRAIGHT/BIZARRE STABLE.
Musically and poetically, all four sides of these rare vinyls are close to tip-top. Many would grade these records M- but ultra-close inspections under strong light reveal only the merest, tiny paper scuffs, so I’m going a full and true EX minimum - but remember NO scratches, NO fingerprints, No embedded dirt - these discs are in great shape. Most of this album has been listened to and, for a mainly spoken word LP it grades EX with NO audio nasties - AND WHAT AN INTERESTING LISTEN IT IS!!
The sleeve has obviously been passed around. IT’S PERFECTLY INTACT with no tears or splits but shows the following wear: established ringwear to both front and rear, an established heavy crease to the rear top left, established top and bottom edge wear, established corner wear to all 4 corners, SOME obscuring of the spine text due to rubbing (though this is mainly intact), creasing to the front, some staining to the front white panel and moderate feathering to the opening edges. The inside gate has light corner creasing but is otherwise the strongest part with the hilarious ‘What a Way To Go’ diagram/chart penned by the Wild Man himself. Overall it’s probably worth a lower VG but I’m grading the sleeve G+ to be save. It’s not trashed and is still OK all round.
Labels are all EX bar Side 4 (small tear/stain). On all 4 sides there is little to no spindle - I don’t think this has seen much play.
So here’s a UK copy of one of the rarest Zappa related Lps. Grab it now or wait another eternity!!
