Wilhelm Kempff plays

Beethoven, Sonata in A flat major op. 26 No 12, Marcia funebre. 3 records 12" Polydor 95465-67, matrices 1189, 1190, 1191, 1192, 1193 1/2, 1194 1/2 Bl. Recorded 1931. Condition: 1-2

Schallplatte Grammophon, later Grammophon, Polydor, Siemens, all were made by the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, Berlin. Since end of the World War I the DGG don't had the right to use the word "Grammophon" and the Dog picture outside Germany; for this reason the company created the name and label Polydor for export sales. The Siemens label announced a new galvanic processing.

1 = mint, never played on gramophone, is not used

1-2 = top copy, no traces of use - virtually as new

2 = excellent copy, few light non-sounding rubs/marks

2-3 = light traces of wear (rubs/marks), very light greying and/or light scratches, non sounding blemishes

3 = a good average copy with more noticeable rubs and marks; light greying, few light scratches possible

3-4 = more traces of use, sonic wear from light greying. An inferior average copy, light scratches possible

4 = some sounding wear, heavier rubs and marks, scratches possible

5 = obvious sounding wear, heavy rubs, marks, scratches. An unsatisfactory copy.
