Description
I had two copies of this album, and this is the second one.
On offer is an original 1972 stereo pressing of the triple album Will the Circle Be Unbroken by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band playing with Nashville stars including Mother Maybelle Carter, Earl Scruggs, Doc Watson, Roy Acuff, etc. It's on the Universal Artists label UAS 9801.
The cover houses the three records and includes complete musician credits on a pull-out panel. One of the original three inner sleeves is included. The other two are missing and replaced by plain inner sleeves.
The records have seen a fair amount of use and play with mostly light surface noise and crackle. This never overpowers the music and is not particularly noticeable on some tracks. In my opinion the records still provide a pleasing listen. But of course they are not for someone who wants a totally clean playback. All of the labels show spindle wear.
The records play with no problem. I've listened entirely to all six sides, and there are no skips or catches. The sound is generally good -- full and bright. The vinyl has some of its original shine and gloss -- also some surface marks and light scratches. I grade the records about Very Good Minus. See photos.
The cover shows wear and there are scuffs at the centers of the inside panels. See photos. A tear at the top of the spine has been taped and there are small marks in the top and bottom left corners of the front cover. Also ring-wear on the front. Again see photos.
