Hi! Real human being here, writing about a real item! This is not a soulless, nonspecific, utterly useless pitch from an AI bot.

This album comes from a Connecticut estate. The records were kept in a basement, and very few of the covers of what would have been an extremely valuable and excellent collection of jazz and blues survived. So, to start with the negatives, this record cover shows water damage, as seen in the photographs. It’s a lucky survivor!

I do not have any more information on where or how this record was signed. I have no certificates of authenticity. I only know that “Peter“ was the owner of the estate and the records. There were no signatures on any of the other records — it clearly was not this person‘s habit to collect or forge signatures. This seems like a one off. This helps me feel that these are authentic, but … understand what you are buying :-)

The album itself is in really very good condition. I would call it very good plus. There are some very fine lines visible in sunlight, but otherwise this album seems to have been well cared for and perhaps seldom played.

The sleeve is not original. It has been replaced with a plastic lined, relatively heavy paper sleeve in which I have confidence.

The cover, other than the damage noted above, is in quite nice shape. Records with large black or white areas on them, particularly when they are 50 something years old, tend to ring quite badly. This one certainly shows signs of that, but experienced collectors regularly see much worse examples. Pretty decent! There is a split in the lower corner of the spine, where the photographs are taken. If the spine had any text on it, it would be legible (it has none). All the other seams are in very good/very good plus condition.

My primary business is grading and selling records, although I have lots of other things up for sale at the moment. Point being: I do understand grading, and I do have all the appropriate materials and experience to safely deliver this record to your door.
