The original recording of "Hound Dog" 3 years before ELVIS grabbed a hold of it. What a mega rare WILLIE MAE THORNTON blues 78! On the PEACOCK Record label. The record # is: 1647 and has the hit song "Hound Dog" on Side a.) and on Side b.) is: "Rock A Bye Baby". The record looks to be in exceptionally nice condition... absolutely wonderful! I would grade this at VG++ to Near Mint (visually graded). There are no heavy scratches, scuffing or heavy graying areas. It still maintains a nice high gloss finish. The labels are in absolutely wonderful condition, with no writing or wear. Near Mint! I have just made a major purchase of ultra rare rock, jazz & blues albums! They were from Radio Station Promotion Manager Lester "Len" Miller and are from his personal collection.
