Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.

We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.

We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status!  Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... PLEASE ENJOY THIS ITEM YOU ARE NOW LOOKING AT..

As you can see, this vinyl is the original 1976 UK pressing - Stored from new this LP has seen what appears to be A FEW PLAYS ONLY!

THE -5 MATRIX IS THE EARLIEST PRESSING WE KNOW ABOUT (The rumour of a -1 -1 matrix is yet to be witnessed!)

Quite incredibly this remains in pristine condition everywhere.

note: Many many copies of 'Speed of sound' had terrible crackle/hiss, as they were a pressing defect..despite looking 'mint', and finding a clean one is actually becoming very hard to find.

This pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings &  rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.

There are A COUPLE OF spider lines around the centre hole, and no wear to the spindle hole whatsoever.

There is some light dust in the grooves where the LP has remained in store for so long..the play is superb, but we feel a prfessional hoover cleaner could get this back to even higher standard..and it plays amazing as it is..so this realy is a fantastic find!

On playing through we heard nothing bar the tiniest of lead in static in the dead grooves....some light static in a few spots during play..but overall this is easily as clean a copy as we have heard.

A very rare record to see at all these days..

OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.

 This is in simply incredible condition, quite amazing how it has survived so clean. A REALLY HARD SLEEVE TO FIND WITHOUT GRUBBY MARKS AND DISCOLOUR.

THIS ONE IS A STUNNER! COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL 'W.H. SMITH' PRICE 'CHART STICKER'..A REAL BLAST FROM 1976!!!!

The edges are all super clean with JUST THE TINIEST SPOTS of rub on the edges , and all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition!  Just the lightest of discolour over the spine and extreme top seam

The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition -

The spine is TAPERED at each end as it should be, and has just the tineist of tip rub and a few tiny spider lines over the edges. and a couple of light squash spots

There are a few light spots of disolour hardly noticeable

No damage or wear.

WE CANNOT SAY MORE THAN THIS REALLY IS A CRACKER..VERY HARD TO FIND BETTER.

THE INNER SLEEVE   MINT-

THICK ORIGINAL CARD INNER..STUNNING WITH NO  DISCOLOUR (Rare to see this!!) and the tiniest of bottom seam repair which is hardly visible!!!
