Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Samira Winter has been an important part of the city's DIY rock scene for over a decade. Her Winspear debut, is a nostalgic farewell to LA, a "tunnel of summers and memories"-inspired by Mary Shelley and 90s rom-coms. Written across two years amid tours, sublets and a cross-country move to New York, adult Romantix is a mix of swirling guitars, cigarette-glazed vocals and contributions from Dimitri Giannopoulos from Horse Jumper of Love and Hannah van Loon. There are nods to a number of shoegaze and indie icons, which means Adult Romantix balances dewy strums, moody nights and bittersweet, lovesick reflections.
