Description
FINE first pressing of Wire's highly regarded third album - complete with four-track EP given away with first copies.
Laminated outer cover, printed inner sleeve and all sides of vinyl are all conservatively rated as very good+ condition (sleeves are nearer excellent but not near-mint)65. So is free EP.
Very slight shelf wear/creasing around outside edges of cover, corners are still nice and square and artist/album name clearly visible along the square spine. Both faces are free of significant dings/dents and absolutely no writing or rips etc. Touch of discolouration/light fading around outer edges and a small crease runs down centre of reverse side - this was present when the record was bought and I assume it was part of the manufacturing process (seen it mentioned in a few other listings).
Printed black on white inner sleeve - with lyrics on one side and track listing/band etc info on the other - is in excellent condition. Die-cut rounded corners are lovely and crisp and seams are tight.
Black and white printed EMI labels are near-perfect apart from just a few light spindle marks around the centre (see photos).
Vinyl has some surface marks consistent with being pulled in and out of inner sleeve and played on good-quality hi-fi separates system and retains most of its original gloss. "SHSP 4105 A-1" stamped into A side runout with "SHVL 818 A-1" etched out and "SHSP 4105 B-2" stamped into B side runout with "SHVL 819 B-2" etched out.
Side one tracks: I Should Have Known Better, Two People In A Room, The 15th, The Other Window, Single KO, A Touching Display, On Returning. Side two: A Mutual Friend, Blessed State, Once Is Enough, Map Ref 41 Degrees N 93 Degrees W, Indirect Enquiries, 40 Versions.
FREE EP PSR 444: Comes in original black sleeve - in excellent condition with tight seams, crisp corners and no signs of use/wear and tear. Vinyl also in excellent condition - looks virtually unplayed Side one track listing: Song 1, Get Down (Parts I & II). Side two: Let's Panic Later, Small Electric Piece.
