Description

RARE(ISH) chance to own cared-for first pressing of second album that saw Wire move away from the more frenetic 2/3-minute thrash of their iconic debut to a more mature post-punk sound.
Semi-matt outer cover, printed inner sleeve and both sides of vinyl are all in very good+ condition.
Only a touch of shelf wear around outside edges of cover, corners are crisp and artist/album name clearly visible along the spine. Both faces (front and back) are free of significant dings and dents. Rated as excellent.
Printed card inner sleeve in very good+ condition with lovely rounded die cut corners and solid seams - only fault is 8cm split on right-hand side (looking at lyrics). Lyrics on one side and band photo on the other.
Classic yellow and green Harvest/EMI labels are near-perfect apart from some light spindle marks around centre. "Made in Gt Britain" printed on both sides.
Vinyl is fairly free of surface marks for a record that has been played quite a lot - a little light scuffing here and there is mostly caused by slipping record in and out of inner sleeve - and retains much of its original gloss. Both sides still play really well - consistent with very good+ rating.
Side one tracks: Practice Makes Perfect, French Film Blurred, Another The Letter, Men 2nd, Marooned, Sand In My Joints, Being Sucked In Again, Heartbeat. Side two: Mercy, Outdoor Miner, I Am The Fly, I Feel Mysterious Today, From The Nursery, Used To, Too Late.
"SHSP 4093 A-2" stamped into A side runout with "SHSP 4093 B-2" stamped into B side runout.
