WIRE Pink Flag '77 UK Early Press Harvest SHSP4076 EX
Harvest/EMI Records UK, catalog number SHSP4076, the 1977 debut of the fantastic Wire, Pink Flag. Hard to overestimate the influence of this band on many to come. Art-damaged punk rock, punk-damaged art rock, hard to say but this was pretty much a unique record among the many released in '77. This is the UK pressing, natch, an early one, looks like: matrix numbers A-4/B-3, "Blair" etched in A-side deadwax. Cover is EX and close to NM; there's about two inches of barest ringwear top front. Correct inner sleeve. Vinyl EX, beautiful, a touch of crackle on first tracks but the VPI should take care of it, otherwise barely a whisper of surface noise. A great copy of a rare and crucial LP.
