Description

WIRE - "PINK FLAG"

HARVEST/EMI Records, 1977 VG Cond.

This LP has been in collection since 1987.   It has been stored in a plastic jacket for the past 20 years.  I have never played it, but the CD has always been in heavy rotation in my player.   The jacket is in good cosmetic shape, with slight yellowing, some old pricetag staining and some corner and spine wear.  It also has a hole punched through the top corner, perhaps indicating it was a promo copy.   The sides of the inner sleeve (with lyrics) are allowing the record to poke through now,  but other than that, it is in good shape. Vinyl looks perfect.

Pink Flag is a rare and influential Post-Punk Album.   Wire took all the energy of punk, mixed it with tight song-writing chops, added riffs that stick in your head, and topped it off with quirky obscure lyrics.

The song "Strange" was later covered by R.E.M.   The band "Ex-Lion Tamer" covers this entire album start to finish as their standard set (!).   The band Elastica was sued and settled out of court for ripping off the main riff of "Three Girl Rhumba" for their song "Connection".  Speaking of "Three Girl Rhumba"...I think the Rollins Band covered that one.

No, this is NOT a re-issue.   And even if you don't buy THIS LP, I suggest you check out this album in some form or another.  Yes, it really is THAT good!

I will mail this album to you quickly and in a sturdy purpose-built

LP mailer so you get it in the same condition you see in the pics.

Ask questions prior to purchase as there are no returns.

Thank you for looking!
