WISHBONE ASH ARGUS UK MCA BLACK/BLUE LABELS 1ST PRESS!!

For Auction is the classic LP ARGUS by WISHBONE ASH, released in 1972 on MCA RECORDS with the catalog number MDKS 8006. A very FIRST PRESSING, The record is on the Black and Blue "Hexagon" MCA labels, matrix #'s 7-LNMG-256-1L / 7-LNMG-256-1L, a very early pressing.  This is by far the most desirable pressing of this classic LP.  These early pressing are increasingly hard to find in this condition!      The labels themselves are in EXCELLENT condition, no writing or grubbiness, and just a few light spindle traces that can be seen when tilting the record under a strong light.  There is a small white mark that can be seen on the side two label, it looks like a spot of ink from the pressing plant.  You can see it in the picture below.   The vinyl itself lays perfectly flat on the turntable.  There are no scratches or scuffs, and has a very few of the most unsubstantial hairlines that can be seen under bright light, almost all in the dead wax area.   It plays with NO pops and NO clicks at all!  It is quite simply the best version of this record you will ever hear.  The fidelity of this pressing is amazing.  I have owned three different UK versions (the all black label and the rainbow label pressings) and this one blows them out of the water.  You have not heard Argus until you have heard THIS pressing!!!     It has the early "Robert Stace" unlaminated sleeve, that only came with the earliest of copies!. The outer sleeve is in VERY GOOD condition , NO grubbiness, NO writing, NO tears, NO seam splits and very little corner wear at all.  The spine is firm and intact, although it does have a small crease that runs through the "s" and "h" of Ash on the spine, it's still fully legible of course.  There are some indents on the dark area of the figures cloak, it looks like someone used this under a paper to write on perhaps, I have included a picture of these marks (the last picture at the bottom)    MAKE SURE TO SCROLL DOWN AND CHECK THE PICTURES FOR YOURSELF!           GRADING    All records are graded to Record Collector magazine (UK) guidelines.  I never use the grade MINT to describe an LP, as I really can't prove a record has not been played and anyone can find a minuscule fault if they look for one.  Besides visually grading I play grade the records on a Music Hall 5.1 with a Grado Gold cartridge tracked at 1.5 grams.      Shipping:

Canada: Ontario = $9 - Quebec = $10 - Others = Inquire

USA: $9 Surface - $11 Air - $15 Expedited

International: $11 Surface - $15 Air

All records are sent in proper LP mailers, with the outer sleeve separate from the vinyl.  Double LP's, gatefold and heavy vinyl may cost more,  if they weight over 500 grams.  All US and International shipments come with insurance for up to $100 included in the price.  I offer a shipping discount on the purchase of more than one LP.  I will happily follow any personal packaging requests you may have.
