Sleeve
Cover design & photography by Hipgnosis. Early Robert Stace printed with the solaris intrusion. Wear light on top/ lower edges of spinal column. Spine clearly displaying title and maintains a solid and square shape. Gatefold opens nicely to excellent inner faces. Minimal feathering to opening edge. Golden colour on front and reverse covers is vibrant and strong, unfaded and retains a perfect contrast against the dark reddish brown of the tree bark. Excellent sleeve and very little to fault.
Labels
Very scarce pink/orange MCAs. Beautiful early example, almost perfect save for a few spindle lines . No spindle wear to report and can only have been lightly played ! Best labels I have seen for a while, with a sensational vibrant orange against a lively ,florescent pink coloration. Sparkling silver MCA arrows point to perfection towards the spindle , and warrant a very strong excellent grading. Sensational!
Vinyl
I do love these early pressings. Very thick, heavy weight, chunky vinyl ,built to last. Awesome mirror like sheen(see pics for a stunning sheen) Don’t need to buy a mirror when you have these vinyls around. Beautiful highly polished, jet black in appearance, that only a connoisseur would fully appreciate. Only one or two very light surface markings from either side that do little to interfere with the audio. Also S1, when angled 20 degrees, a light surface hairline is visible, extending across one side, but these ultra faint blemishes disappear beneath its staggering , highly polished surfaces.
Stunning early press , housed in an original poly lined, blue/white checkered inner sleeve . Just one visible tear on opening edge and a couple of lateral seam splits near top also.Superb.
Audio
Tones are delivered in sensational style. A solid excellent aural delivery with very little to fault . Recorded at De Lane Studios ,in London ,in May 1971. “Where were you Tomorrow” was recorded at De Montfort Hall, Leicester in 1971,June 14 by the Pye mobile recorders. Twin guitar progressive rock at its very, very best . Excellent grooves, audio is very pleasing and a delight to anyone’s ears. Will find very difficult to match.
Summary
Appears to have a minimal playing history. Stunning, thick cut vinyl ,with a highly polished appearance. 1st issue MCA label format with an excellent 1st issue gatefold sleeve. An excellent example of this very first pressing, the second, Wishbone Ash album release .
Has to be one of the best I have had the pleasure to sell. Do not miss!!!
