Released in November of 1963, this first pressing has the short-lived -2/-2 master matrices, the sleeve has the misprint 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' track title, soon corrected to 'You Really Got A Hold On Me'. 

 Sleeve:  Very Good condition. Firm and completely flat and holds record tightly. All edges sharp with just a minor storage wear on corners are but still quite well defined. Lamination completely intact over the iconic glossy front pictorial, spine, edges and fold-over flaps. All fold-over over flaps are still intact and clean which is so often not the case. There are also just a few superficial creases to this 53 year old sleeve. The front pictorial is the very first underexposed and hence appears darker than most original With The Beatles sleeves. This was quickly changed, and as such this sleeve is the rarer type.

The spine is completely intact and the title text present and readable. 

There are no stickers or sticker residue. There is some pen underlining on the rear panel of the sleeve.

All flipbacks are complete with original text.

Inner Sleeve: This is the correct and original die-cut EMI Emitex advertising inner sleeve with a thin outer paper and a poly-lined inner. In Very Good Plus condition, completely intact at all seams inside and out, and holds record well, it does have one light mark and some corner creasing.

The Vinyl Disc: Very Good Plus/ Very Good

The vinyl surfaces have retained a bright glossy sheen on both sides with the most of the surface area being marks free. The surfaces are smooth with no groove wear.

There are no feelable marks or scratches, no dinks in the surfaces and no warps.

The record does show an amount of light superficial stylus hairlines and cleaning trails on both sides commensurate with age and number of plays, all mainly visible under bright light.

The disc lays completely flat on the turntable on both sides, and sits perfectly on the spindle point.

Pressed on very heavy early sixties vinyl, this record weighs heavier than most at 170 grams.

The labels are Very Good, having retained the dark black background and yellow print still looks striking. The spindle location point has some wear on the label paper around its perimeter with spindle line traces but they don't reach outside of the centre circle areas.

All label text is clear and readable.

No sticker or sticker residue or writing.

The Parlophone Co. Ltd text around rim, and KT tax code.

The Audio: Excellent

 The record plays with crisp vocal clarity and full mono bass definition throughout.

Track changes and interludes are smooth and noise free and this LP is thoroughly playable and still a respectable example. There are no interuptions such as pops, loud ticks or background noises and nothing that overcomes any of the audio. There are some very light static ticks on the lead-in's to some of the tracks on each sides.

The robust early sixties vinyl presses usually ensures that the audio quality tends to be better than the appearance of a played surface may suggest, and this is no exception.

There are no major detractions and only a small/ acceptable amount of lessening from the original audio quality. No skips, jumps, sticks etc.

The -1N/1N matrix number was only pressed for a month and only a small quantity of them towards the end of the run had the corrected label spelling for 'You Really Got A Hold On Me'  and the correct publishing credit 'Dominion Belinda' for the track Money.

The LP will be delivered in a quality double-part cardboard LP mailer with stifferners. 

The record placed separately in a plain generic inner to prevent wear to the original.

Also comes housed in a PVC record protector.

Item will be marked as fragile and sent recorded delivery.
