THE BEATLES

WITH THE BEATLES LP

MONO PMC 1206

THIS IS THE FIRST PRESS RELEASED 1963

Masters XEX 447-1N / XEX 448-1N

Mother/ Stamper Side 1: 5 GP

Mother/ Stamper Side 2: 5 RD

This LP contains all the hallmarks of the earliest and rarest pressing you can get of

With The Beatles.

The Sleeve: Fair condition rarer Ernest J. Day flipback sleeve.  Evidence of wear over the decades to the corners and opening. There is a split along the bottom flipback on its top edge extending nearly halfway. The laminate on the front is all intact and extends over to the flipbacks. The iconic photo still retains its glossy appearance. This is the initial underexposed photo version as can be seen from the dark image of half of Paul McCartney's face.

There is limited creasing for a sleeve this age, no real evident ring wear.

No writing or writing imprints, no stickers or sticker residue.

Still holds record well.

Contains the 'You Really Gotta Hold On Me' error (instead of Got A) on reverse.

The Vinyl: Condition is at least Good, it contains a fair amount of marks and light hairlines and one needle scratch across two tracks causing skips. Vinyl is clean and still retains its glossy sheen. No warping, it lays completely flat on the turntable. Made of period thick heavy deep grooved vinyl, it weighs 163 grams.

Labels are neat, all text clear and bright. Spindle hole perimeter area not too worn and spindle traces don't extend outside of centre groove area and are faint on Side 2, heavier Side 1.

KT tax code embossed and The Parlophone Co. Ltd printed on outer rim.

Importantly the label also contain the 'Gotta' error.

This error was quickly rectified within subsequent pressings and is rare.

More importantly the track Money on Side 2 is incorrectly credited to Jobete Mus.

This was only on these 1st pressings and is very rare.

The Audio: Playback is better than the appearance of the vinyl, as is usually the case with these quality EMI pressings. In the main it plays smoothly with only light background crackle occasionally and the odd soft tick in some grooves between song changes.

There are several small skips on Side 2 during Track 3 and a few during the first minute of Track 4.

This is the first release from the first master cut and how this LP was originally intended, and is still a good listenable collectible item.

No obtrusive noise or stops. Rated as Good taking into account the skips, otherwise plays at least Very Good.

Period Emitex advertising inner from EMI with tracing paper liner is included.

It is fully intact and functional.

This LP will be housed in a PVC sleeve and delivered in a professional cardboard LP mailer with cardboard stifferners. To protect the original inner sleeve, the record will be placed inside a plain generic inner.
