Description
An very good condition example of the original 1963 EMI UK twin track, 3 & 3/4 ips mono reel to reel tape release of "With The Beatles" by The Beatles complete with the "Emitape" leaflet, and the packing/warranty slip. Cat No TA-PMC-1206. Released at the same time as the original vinyl album in 1963.
Clean, intact lid and base, no split corners, intact and unbroken spool , clear printed red Part 1 leader tape and red trailing Part 2 leader tape, no pen markings/writing, no stains/marks to box. Rare purchases in comparison to the vinyl LP in the 1960s, usually by audiophiles wanting top quality sound. Often ordered by the customer by special order, as some retailers did not stock them. Played throughout both sides and tested - perfect. Emitape leaflet and packing slip nice. This is an example that has the lid "clarifoiled" by EMI - a form of stain protection they routinely applied to all Beatles vinyl LPs of the time. They did this to some of the early Beatles reel to reels.
Glorious mono, the dominant format in 1963, can be played on four track stereo tape recorders, as well, of course, on twin track mono machines. It is a pleasure to listen to the iconic Beatles albums without the usual "pop, crackle and hiss etc" of the vinyl format.
