Description

THE BEATLES

"WITH THE BEATLES"

VERY RARE

1963

1st UK MONO PRESSING

ON THE YELLOW & BLACK

PARLOPHONE LABEL

PMC 1206

Why is this so rare..........?

It has the correct 'Dominion Belinda' credit for "Money" on Side 2 instead of the incorrect 'Jobete' credit; and has the correct spelling of "You Really Got A Hold on Me". However, it has  the earliest 1N & 1N 1st pressing Matrices. It is very rare to get a 1N/1N pressing with the above correct credits. Nearly all 1N/1N pressings have 'Jobete' credited for "Money" and the incorrect 'Gotta' spelling on the label and on the rear of the cover.

Only a handful of "With the Beatles" were pressed in 1963 with these 'corrected' credits before the matrices were changed to 3N and later 4N, 5N, 6N & 7N.

Cover: Garrod & Lofthouse 1st pressing laminated front (unlaminated rear) with triple flip-backs. No writings,  doodles or seam splits. Some laminate creasing and edge wear. Nice clear readable spine. Rates as Near Excellent - see photos. This is the earliest 1st pressing 'uncorrected' cover with the 'You Really Gotta Hold on Me' spelling.

Original EMI poly-lined inner sleeve: Near Excellent.

Labels: Excellent. Corrected 'Dominion Belinda' credit & '...Got A....' spelling. 1/1 matrix Numbers and MT tax code.

Vinyl:  Play tested. Thick heavy duty 1st pressing vinyl. Very nice sheen. Side 1 looks Excellent and Side 2 looks VG+. No skips/jumps. Track 1 (Side 1) is a bit muffled for the first 30 seconds for some reason even though I cannot see any marks that might cause this - the rest of the record plays Excellent with only minor crackle between tracks. A true testament to the quality of this 1st pressing vinyl.

      Gradings.......

Mint - The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.

Excellent - The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is little lessening in sound quality.

Very Good - The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch.

Good - The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.

Fair - The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise, it may even jump.

Poor - The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc

Bad - The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
