WOLFGANG DAUNER Free Action (Saba SB 15 095 ST) Guru Guru RARE German 1st Pressing MINT-
Very RARE original German first pressing of the Wolfgang Dauner Septett`s "Free Action", released on Saba Records (May 1967).
Along with Peter Brötzmann`s "Machine Gun" (1968) and the Manfred Schoof Quintet`s "Voices" (May 1966), "Free Action" must be counted amongst the most important musical statements of the German free jazz scene of the 60s. These recordings also bear historical significance for the later German "Krautrock" scene, in that two of its most innovative drummers were featured: Jaki Liebezeit (of Can) on "Voices" - and Mani Neumeier (of Guru Guru) on "Free Action".

GRADING:
MINT- COVER, practically pristine except for a slight cover bend (at top right) and a small scuff on the rear (at bottom center). Please see photos for details.
- Minimal yellowing of the cover spine.
MINT- RECORD, carefully played.
- A few faint hairlines, from sleeve removal only.
- Very sporadic background crackle in quiet passages, near-perfect audio.
- Labels with minimal spindle wear, visible only under very strong light.
With its matt red Saba record labels that employ the old lettering and Saba logo, this copy of "Free Action" is guaranteed to be an authentic German first pressing, released in May 1967. Virtually impossible to find in such a condition nowadays!
NOTE: This record comes from an extensive, single-owner collection of progressive and folk-rock records we recently acquired. These records were all bought at the time of initial release (1960-1970). Most are original UK or US first pressings. Due to the size of the collection, most of the records were played a few times only: They will be found to be in the appropriate condition.
