Woody Guthrie is the great American Folk Troubadour. Woody spent his life traveling this country, bumming around with his guitar ["This Machine Kills Fascists"]! He helped to organize unions, raise funds, bring comfort and tell the stories of the beaten-down working man and woman on the farms and in the cities. His huge body of work includes hundreds of recorded songs and many more that he never recorded. His anthem "This Land Is Your Land" was written in angry response to Irving Berlin's "God Bless America"! His life defined what it was to be a "Folk Singer". He inspired several generations of singers to emulate him; from Ramblin' Jack Elliott to Bob Dylan and from his own son Arlo Guthrie to Billy Bragg and Wilco. This record is in NEAR MINT condition! [the cover has a wrinkle in the paper that occurred in the manufacturing of this record where it reads "Sung By", but NO other SPLITS or TEARS! there are two light and tiny quarter-inch stains at the left edge of the front cover at the top and bottom corners. the vinyl has the shine and sparkle of a brand new record with a couple of very light and minor surface marks.] This record PLAYS FANTASTIC!
