Increasingly rare PROGRESSIVE OUTFIT , HEAVY Psychedelic Blues Rock album featuring the awesome/in-demand single 'Biography'. Boasts a glowing sleeve-note from none other than JOHN PEEL, who compares WOODY KERN favourably (and correctly) to FAMILY and CAPTAIN BEEFHEART & HIS MAGIC BAND!

Here is your chance to own a hard to find release. If your into that heavy prog / blues sound from the late 60's then Woody Kern is a must! This is such an exciting release. If you like Mahogany, Finchley Boys, Toe Fat or Aum then your going to love this great blend of heavy prog with heavy blues. Similar in some respects to early Jasper (and therefore early Jethro Tull) the album runs the whole gamut of late '60's UK progressive / blues boom / psych underground. Everything is thrown into the communal cooking pot. Includes a great version of Spirit's "Gramophone Man" complete with phased vocals and jazzy break...A strange and worthwhile album. A progressive outfit whose album has a bluesy tinge. The opening cut 'Biography' has some good flute and guitar bits; 'Tell You I'm Gone' starts with Latin rhythms and goes through various tempo changes; 'Fair Maiden' opens with some spiritual organ and has some nice flute parts in the middle and at the end; 'Vile Lynn' has a choral opening, some good guitar runs and nice violin parts and the final cut 'Vegetable' is a lengthier jazz-flavoured number with guitar, tenor sax, bass and drum solos. The album also contains covers of B.B. King's 'That's Wrong Little Mama', Little Walter's 'Mean Old World' and Spirit's 'Gramophone Man'.

LP condition GRADING system:

M (MINT) : Sealed, never opened or played, new in original package.

NM (NEAR MINT) : Near perfect copy, played only a few times. At worst it may have one or two insignificant flaws. This is the highest grade I give for a non-sealed (used) record.

EX (EXCELLENT) : Clean copy, slight surface marks/hairlines, cover has minor defaults.

VG++ (VERY GOOD++) : More surface marks, minor flaws, or cover wear, minor edge wear (cover). Nothing serious but is not graded EX because of few minor defaults.

VG+ (VERY GOOD +) : Played a lot, will show signs of handling, has marks, possibly few light scratches but no jumps or sticks. Cover wear (light ring wear, heavier corner or edge wear on cover).

VG (VERY GOOD) : Used record, played a lot, has marks, few scratches, some crackling while playing and but no jumps or sticks. Still quite listenable. Cover may have heavy corner, edge wear or split seams.

G (GOOD) : Played a lot and more (but still playable), lot of scratches, crackles a lot while playing, may have jump or sticks and cover is damaged...so not so good ! This record must be very rare to be proposed in this state !!!
