Description
Up for auction is a copy of World Star Festival, a book set of nine 7-inch singles, issued for promotional use only, on behalf of the United Nations “in aid of the World’s refugees”. Artists contributing to this set include Diana Ross & The Supremes, Ray Charles, Simon & Garfunkel, The Bee Gees, Dusty Springfield, Frank Sinatra & Barbra Streisand. There’s also a remarkable sound effects EP which compiles field recordings from across Africa. Each 45 is held in its own sleeve with explanatory notes, and collected in a spiral-bound hardback book with an introduction from Leonard Bernstein, Bert Kaempfert & Andre Previn. A remarkable & beautiful item.
Condition: all the records look barely played. The book has a little minor wear in the front & on the edges, but the contents themselves are also in beautiful condition. Easily EX all round.
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor). I never use mint as a grade for used records. I am a long-time (25+ years!) record collector, and play-grade where possible. I don’t use stock photos: the item pictured here is the item for sale. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings. Even so, if you have any problems, I'll give you your money back (less shipping costs), no questions asked. Buy with confidence!
