Hello everyone, I'm selling part of my collection of 10" 78rpm. This little collection has a World War 2 theme with a touch of Waterloo, with Old Sam. Titles and condition are listed below :-
Flanagan and Allen            Decca           F 7265            Run, Rabbit, Run       /  The Washing On The Siegfried Line   A couple of light scuffs, otherwise just a very few minor imperfections. Lovely clear vocals.
Quentin Reynolds              HMV             BD 948            Dear Mr S...   No 3     /  Dear Mr S...    No 4     This brilliant satirical record is a very funny letter to Mr S [ alias Adolf Hitler ]. Wonderful stuff.  Lovely clear vocal. 3 or 4 fine lines and two short scratches. 
Fabulous punchline.
Stanley Holloway               Columbia      FB 2470          Old Sam 'Alt Who Goes Theer?     /  Old Sam  No 1  Pick Up That Musket   Very minor imperfections. Lovely condition. 
Nightingales and Bombers  HMV  BD 1016                   The Night Of The Mannheim Raid  /  The Night Of The Mannheim Raid - Bombers receding. Some lines, scuffs and imperfections. Some light surface noise but otherwise a nice clear recording. A lovely idea to
 blend the song of the nightingale with the sound of bombers approaching and receding. War and Peace, depicted quite nicely.
Vera Lynn                    Decca   F 9927           Auf Wiedersehen Sweetheart  /  From The Time You Say Goodbye   Marks and lines throughout. Despite this visual description the vocal is loud, clear and only a very light rustle on the quieter bits.  Vera sounds lovely

All records have been play-tested in full to check for and report any unwanted irregularities. All records play and sound just fine. Any background rustling is kept to a minimum and does not detract from the listeners pleasure. 
All discs are shiny, black and flat.
Now, I may be preaching to the converted but it is so important to play these records using the correct equipment. They may be considered to be poor cousins of the LP but really good reproduction can be realised with a good diamond stylus with the correct profile for shellac plus the warm sound of valve amplification go towards the perfect match. All this does help to reduce background noise. Wind-up grams are lovely, I still have mine from the 50s, but they don't half wear out the records especially if played with ' loud ' needles. A lighter arm is much preferred.
All records cleaned on my Simply Vinyl 'ViVac' RCM.
 The company sleeves are in very good condition with one |Decca sleeve having two small tears.  All have the usual age related imperfections. The records will be well wrapped and dispatched in a cruciform cardboard record mailer.
