Recorded when she was just 17 years old, Betty Wright's I Love the Way You Love announced the arrival of Miami soul's most commanding voice. The album was produced in its entirety by the Clarke-Reid partnership with guitar virtuoso Willie "Little Beaver" Hale throughout and the centrepiece is the era-defining 'Clean Up Woman' - a relentless groove built on Hale's iconic opening lick. It hit number six in the pop chart and number two on the R&B chart and earned Betty her first Grammy nomination before going on to sell over six million copies. Surrounding it are luscious ballads, killer funk and a fine vision of Bill Withers' 'Ain't No Sunshine' all cut from the original analogue masters. A serious soul gem.
