Across his past releases, Swedish composer Sven Wunder has treated place as a kind of instrument, but this new record steps into a more expansive and light-driven mode. Where earlier work circled specific regions or traditions, these pieces move through the slow unfurling of a day, tracing how colour, warmth and air pressure seep into musical shape. 'Setting Off' opens with a soft radiance that recalls the first moment light touches water. 'Misty Shore' leans into blurred flute lines that mimic fog dispersing across a coastline while 'Still Moorings' grounds itself in a steady and glowing way. Later, 'Turning Tides' stretches the arrangement outward, as if following the sun's retreat. Wunder's gift lies in how quietly he lets these scenes develop; each track feels like an observation made in passing, yet they linger long after the light fades.
