Description

A very unique collection, indeed!  These came from a prominent old time radio collector.

CONDITION: All records track properly.  I played them with a 2.0 for best results.  Some noisy in Parts.  I give them V+ condition.

These are home airchecks of WWII material from 1942.  Recorded off the air they were recorded well.   Very rare material here.  I'll do my best to decribe:

The come in an actual Recordisc album.  The front and back cover have separated. No big deal but it should be mentioned.

Total of FIVE records

Discs 1-2 King Edward Speech  Mostly complete.  Then a band plays the British National Anthem and announcer gives a nice close for the NBC Blue Network
Disc 3 Charles De Gaulle speaks and then the Network turns it over to Mayor LaGuardia in New York followed by a woman singing in an operatic voice in front of a live audience.  Date 05-18-42  ***NOTE: This disc has a little bump at the beginning making tracking for the first 20 seconds a bit of a challenge.
Disc 4-5: 1 side is a woman on the air Mrs Marguetteau speaking about the war and then the remaining three sides are Pual Robeson singing "The Battle Hymn" which is an interesting sung performance timeline of WWII with a full chorus and orchestra.
