Wagner Tristan und Isolde Furtwangler UK HMV ALP 1030 6 LPs
This recording features Kirsten Flagstad as Isolde and Ludwig Suthaus as Trsitan, with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Rudolf Schock, Blanche Thebom and others. The Philharmonia Orchestra and Covent Garden Chorus are conducted by Wilhelm Furtwangler. A six record set, this is an English mono pressing on the HMV Label (ALP 1030 - 5). The labels are red with gold lettering, a large semi circle dog logo, Made in Gt. Britain at 6 oclock and a groove. There are a few marks on side 10 and 12 and a few scuffs on side 5, none of which seem to sound. And otherwise the records are of excellent appearance and play and sound very well with low-level surface noise. There is some minor wear to the some of the edges of the box which is in very good condition. The libretto has some foxing.
