Walt Disney The Black Hole Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Record 1979 Great!
The 1970's and 1980's were a great time to be a kid.  Not only did you have all sorts of fantastic science fiction and fantasy movies that were being released, but record companies were cashing in on the popularity of these movies by releasing 33 1/3 Vinyl records that contained the music, dialogue and sound effects from those movies to sell to kids so they could listen to the movie while they played.  Remember, this was back in the day before VHS, Betamax, LaserDisc, CDs, BluRay or our modern Internet or streaming services, so you couldn't just pop a tape, CD or log onto the Internet and pull up a movie for kids to watch.
At that time, THIS was high-end entertainment for kids, and we loved it!  Listening to Star Wars, or The Empire Strikes Back or even The Black Hole, was a sure way to entertain your kids, just by pulling out a record player and putting the record to keep them entertained while mom did things around the house.  It was a golden era for children of that time, and items like these were cherished for their link back to those movies.  Although you can stream most of those movies on your television, there's nothing like listening to it on the record player while you relax.
When my brother and I were kids, we had all sorts of records, although many of them were released by Walt Disney, due to their collection of animated movies that translated well over to records.  However, some of our favorites included ones like this one:  The Black Hole, a science fiction movie that became a classic of the era, although unable to catch on like Star Wars or Star Trek did.  Walt Disney Production would release this 33 1/3 record of the story of The Black Hole in 1979, shortly after the movie's release.  Although not the entire movie, it was recorded with the key parts that helped kids follow the story and enjoy the sounds and music from the movie.
Luckily, this record survived 45 years stored away, but now it needs to be sold to help pay bills.  You'll receive the complete record, in it's original dust cover, and stored in the original casing it was sold in.  The casing is in excellent condition with only minor wear on the corners.  There are no tears in the cover, or major dings or creases.  The front cover is in full color, as vibrant and bold as it was when it was first purchased.  The record comes in it's original dust cover, which is also undamaged or torn, and the record itself is clean and free of any major scratches that would damage it's play.  The 12-page full-color photo album inside the cover is completely intact, with no tears or damage to the pages.  Even the staples are original.
Although The Black Hole never caught on as well as Star Wars or Star Trek, it has remained a popular and well-remembered piece in the science fiction genre.  Anyone who knows the story immediately recognizes the iconic V.I.N.C.E.N.T. or Old B.O.B. or the menacing Maximillian robots.  The Palamino and the Cygnus are also two iconic ships from the movie.  Although the movie ended on a curiously confusing note, it was an enjoyable movie and a great piece of movie history.
Shipping will be via US Media Mail to keep costs down.  Good Luck!
