Description
Wanda Jackson Part 1 - rare 1958 UK EP, EAP 1-1041.
This is nearly a lovely copy of the hard-to-find first EP by Wanda Jackson that was released on the Capitol label in the UK in 1958 - EAP 1-1041. The title is given on the cover as Part 1, but not repeated on the back or on the label. The tracks on the record are the classic Let's have a Party, Heartbreak Ahead, Money Honey, and Just Call me Lonesome.The record is not far off EX, but I am grading it as a nice strong VG+ as there are a few light marks. Nothing major at all - it has been well looked after. The labels are nice and clean. The reason I say it is 'nearly' lovely is that the cover is slightly letting the side down. For some reason the laminate has been peeled off. Because of this it feels a little light-weight and floppy rather than stiff as an EP cover should. And without the laminate to protect it there is some light ring-wear that I have shown in close-up in the picture below. However, as I say, it has not been mistreated. It still grades as VG but could be better. There are no rips, scribbles, or splits on the edges etc. If you don't have one in your collection (or if you have a good cover but poor record - or no record) then this EP could well be for you because as I say - it is nearly lovely and will go well in a collection until a perfect example turns up.
