Wanda Landowska on 78 rpm RCA Victor Album DM1181
Six discs in N- condition, cover in V-, some taped repairs and water damage. Program notes are loose but included and may or may not be complete. The set has a copyright date of 1947 and is a wonderful document of Landowska, a major figure in the preservation of Baroque instrumental music. Selections include Bach’s Prelude, Fugue and Allegro in E flat, Fantasia in C minor, Scarlatti’s Sonata in D, Sonata in D minor, Chambonnieres Saraband in D minor, Rameau’s La Dauphine, Couperin’s Les Barricades Mysterieuses, L’Arleauine, Purcell’s Ground in C minor, Anonymous The Nightingale, Handel’s Aria and Doubles in E major, Mozart’s Rondo in D (K 485), Rondo all Turca, Menuet in D, Bach-Vivaldi Concerto in D.
