Description
I have listed this as 'new', because it is unplayed. It is one of the original 1,000 copies pressed by the Whitbread Brothers in 1981. I was the bass player for the brothers' next band, 'Red Hunter'. This single is one of two copies recently found in Mike Whitbread's house among correspondence dating back to 1982. Although the record is new and unplayed, there is some very fine dust and some very light surface marks gathered from its time in storage. This can clearly be seen in the photographs. I have made no attempt to remove it. Also the cover, having also been stored for 36 years, shows the faint impression of the centre of the single stored inside it, when it is held against the light. The cover is gatefold, as received from the printers in the original 1981 print run, and has never been glued to form a sleeve. There are two tiny tears on the top edge of the gatefold where it would be folded to form a cover. These are just visible in the picture. The brothers glued the covers themselves in 1981.
This is as close to a mint copy as you will find nowadays. I have another copy this is not in such good condition, having not been stored properly. I will list that separately.
I will also include a copy of the War of the Ring lyrics, which are never quoted correctly, and a 7" x 5" photograph of ARC with the band members who recorded War of the Ring taken on the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire in 1980.
