Condition:
- Vinyl: strong VG Only a few light marks and scratches. One scratch you can feel with your fingertip on 'Scrapple from the Apple' pops a bit but it's during a loud section of music and doesn't disturb too much. No skips, very slight crackle throughout. No distortion-- the highs are very clear and bass sounds great. A great playing copy.
Note: JAZZ stamped on label on one side. - Cover: VG- Front has some wear but is still very nice to display and would frame nicely; back has JAZZ stamped on it in small letters and a little more wear than the front. Cover is split 100% at bottom but intact at top and left.
- Comes with original rice paper sleeve in addition to new paper sleeve
Here's a Jazz rarity-- the original mono Prestige deep groove pressing of Wardell Gray Memorial Volume Two. Also featured on this disc are greats Al Haig, Tommy Potter, Roy Haynes, Teddy Charles, Frank Morgan, Sonny Clark, Dick Nivison, Larry Marable, Sonny Criss, Clark Terry, Jimmy Bunn, Billy Hadnott, Chuck Thompson, Dexter Gordon, Art Farmer, Hampton Haws, Harper Cosby, and Robert Collier.
This is the original Prestige pressing of this classic. The address on the label reads 446 W. 50th Street and RVG appears in the deadwax in the runout groove.
Don't pass this one up-- it's pretty scarce and usually goes for quite a bit of scratch!
