Description
Released in 1989 on Virgin Records, Transverse City is Warren Zevons ambitious cyberpunk inspired concept album. Exploring themes of urban decay, corporate greed, and technological isolation, the record remains one of his most complex and sonically layered works. It features an impressive list of guest contributors, including Neil Young, Jerry Garcia, David Gilmour, and members of R.E.M., all adding to the albums dense, atmospheric rock sound. Notable tracks include the biting "Run Straight Down" and the hauntingly beautiful "Splendid Isolation." This late 80s vinyl pressing is increasingly difficult to find, especially in high grade condition. This specific copy is exceptionally well preserved, still in its original shrinkwrap and featuring the prominent blue hype sticker which highlights the albums key tracks.
