Description
Having taken pride of place in my burgeoning country collection for some time, it’s time for this beautiful piece to move on to another loving collector. I've been collecting Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash memorabilia for some time, but a recent resurgence in my interest in Hank Williams Jr. (AKA Bocephus) has surpassed my life-long obsession with the former two legends!
I've put a brief description of the LP and cover condition in the condition details box, but I will reiterate the fact that the LP itself plays very well with minimal surface noise. Very few pops and absolutely no skipping. The LP has been cleaned and zapped with the ZEROSTAT 3 before being lovingly placed inside a high-density anti-static record sleeve. I have, however, kept the original inner sleeve.
The cover is in very good condition. Corners are a little worn, but there is minimal ringwear. The cover has been stored inside a high-density polythene protection sleeve. The original inner sleeve is kept inside the signed album cover and the LP placed behind the signed cover in the anti-static sleeve.
This piece of musical history has been kept very lovingly. The damage on the signed cover was acquired before Waylon and Willie apparently signed it, after which it has been carefully stored. The polythene sleeve has been changed a couple of times. The one on it now is about a year old.
For those who are interested, this album was apparently signed by Waylon and Willie at the US Festival on Saturday, 4 June 1983 (County Day). This does not come with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), so it's up to you as the buyer to make your own mind up. If this wonderful piece doesn't sell on this listing, I am quite happy to keep it. Just a downsizing of my collection, and it's not everybody who has an album apparently signed by two of the world's greatest country legends!
I cannot authenticate the story here with anything other than my belief. This album does now come with a COA and it is up to the buyer to decide whether these signatures are indeed authentic. This is reflected in the price.
