Columbia Records AS 318 M-/M- Matrix nos. XSP-163233-1A/XSS-163232-1B US original WHITE LABEL PROMO 12" EP...STONE MINT!!!! A special pressing for radio. A very RARE indeed 12" from Weather Report. Maybe one of THE most famous modern jazz songs ever, Birdland. Recorded in 1977 from the excellent Weather Report album titled, Heavy Weather. For this famous band led by Josef Zawinul on keyboards, Wayne Shorter on sax, including Jaco on bass and Alex Acuna on drums, this was a ground breaking recording to say the least!!! The song Birdland with its haunting synth bass, catchy rhythm, building cresendos, you've heard it many times. BUT, this has 2 MONO versions which are as dynamic as you've ever heard!! Just a mind blowing sound on this 2". Check this out, side A, STEREO Edited Version(3:45), Long Version(5:59), on side B, MONO Edited Version(3:45), Long Version(5:59). White cover has unique black/white picture of the Heavy Weather cover, and is super clean and NEAR MINT. The vinyl is super shiny STONE MINT. The WHITE PROMO LABELS are so white and clean with NO spindles..looks unplayed!!! Check out my other RARE album on ebay this week.
As always, all records are from my own personal collection of over 42 years!!!
***PLEASE NOTE*** I clean all my records with a NITTY GRITTY Professional Record cleaning machine if necessary. I pack records carefully. Records are placed outside of the album cover in a record sleeve. Albums are bubbled wrapped for safety and mailed in a strong cardboard record mailer box!!!
