Description
1192 takes Weezer all the way back to the beginning — the band’s first studio recordings from November 1992, before the release of the Blue Album and before Weezer became one of the defining alternative-rock bands of the ’90s.
The recordings were rediscovered by founding bassist Matt Sharp on a multi-track analog tape reel and include the sessions that helped Weezer secure their original record deal. They feature the early lineup of Rivers Cuomo, Matt Sharp, Jason Cropper and Pat Wilson, capturing songs that would later become Blue Album classics.
Rather than simply transferring the old tapes digitally, Sharp and producer/mixer Joe Chiccarelli revisited the original recordings at EastWest Studios in Los Angeles. The material was remixed from the original analog tapes and taken to vinyl through a 100% analog process, preserving the character of the original 1992 sessions.
Features early recordings of:
“Say It Ain’t So”
“Undone – The Sweater Song”
“No One Else”
“The World Has Turned and Left Me Here”
“Surf Wax America”
Includes 10 tracks featuring alternate takes, band mixes, acoustic mixes and vocal/guitar mixes from these historic early sessions.
