Description
This is the holy grail in Weird Al Yankovic collecting. This is a copy of Weird Al's very first commercial release (which is pre-dated by only four extremely rare private-issue recordings, items done for his school or for the Dr Demento show, or even a songwriters competition LP which included an early song of his), this 45 for sale here is My Bologna backed with School Cafeteria on Capitol records, Capitol P-4816, promotional issue. This is where Al got his start...you know the famous story where Doug Fieger of the Knack heard Al's parody of their hit My Sharona on the Dr. Demento show and passed it on to Capitol records, the Knack's record label, who in turn put the record out -- well this is it! This record was nowhere near a hit so copies are somewhat impossible to come by these days.
If that wasn't enough, this is also the cleanest copy of the single I have ever held in my hands (which in 15 years of record collecting, buying and selling, has been only two copies in total!). This record is in a very nice VG+ condition with near mint record labels that are free from writing, stickers, etc. The only defect this record has is a scuff on the A side that has absolutely no effect on the audio quality (I can post a sample of the audio from the scuffed area for proof if needed).
You're going to be hard pressed to turn up a better copy of this single, actually, you're going to be searching high and low just to turn up another copy of this single in any condition.

Shipping & Handling in the U.S. and Canada is $3.50 for the first 45 for first class uninsured mail, 25 cents for each additional 45. Outside of the U.S. my shipping and handling charge for standard non-insured air mail is $8.00 for the first 45 and $1 for each additional 45. I am not responsible for items that ship uninsured or items that ship outside of the United States. I will only ship to Italy if you add $18 for registered mail due to the large number of packages that seem to get lost over there, otherwise i will not ship to italy. The winner must pay for their item within 14 days of winning the auction, and the item may be returned for a refund of the original purchase price if the item is sent back within 14 days of the date I shipped the item out, with original packaging included.
