Stinson Records was an American record label founded in 1939, primarily known for its early releases of Soviet recordings in the United States. The label was initially created to market and distribute recordings from the Soviet Union in the United States, particularly for the 1939 World's Fair in New York City. When Soviet record supplies could not meet demand, Harris and Prosky began producing their own copies, including notable recordings by the Red Army Chorus. The label’s early focus was on releasing classical and operatic music by Russian artists, often from the USSR. It later expanded to include folk and blues artists from the United States.
