West Coast / rural rock / psych / funk sampler lot featuring Terry Reid (yes, he's a Limey, but his RIVER-sessions couldn't be more L.A.), The Grateful Dead, David Crosby (whose blissed-out solo album is perhaps the greediest psychedelia ever put to wax), Thomas Jefferson Kaye (former 60's pop producer who, upon relocating from NY to California, went on to produce Gene Clark's NO OTHER), Roger McGuinn and Patrick Gogerty, formerly of Bay-Area heads The Charlatans.
1) RIVER by Terry Reid. Released 1973 on Atlantic (SD 7259), stereo. Original company dust sleeve included. Gatefold jacket. Owner's nameplate stamped onto the labels. Vinyl = vg+; sparse sleeve scuffs do not affect play, sound is crisp. Jacket = vg; 10" split on the bottom edge; top edge is notched; nameplate is stamped onto the front board.
2) WAKE OF THE FLOOD by The Grateful Dead. Released 1973 on Grateful Dead Records (GD-01). Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Jacket = vg; light ringwear / edge wear; chipping on the top edge; owner's name handwritten on the back board.
3) IF I COULD ONLY REMEMBER MY NAME by David Crosby. Released 1971 by Atlantic (SD 7203), stereo. Company dust sleeve included. Gatefold jacket. Vinyl = vg+; sparse, wispy sleeve scuffs do not affect play, sound is crisp. Cover = vg; 10" split on the bottom edge; 5" split on the top edge.
4) FIRST GRADE by Thomas Jefferson Kaye. Released 1974 by ABC-Dunhill (DSX-50142). Company dust sleeve included. Original printed insert included. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; bottom of the spine is bumped; boards are clean and bright.
5) ROGER MCGUINN st, released 1973 by Columbia (KC 31946). Original printed insert included. Vinyl = vg+; sparse, wispy sleeve scuffs do not affect play, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; light ringwear, NO splitting.
6) AMERICAN BEAUTY RAG BY JOSEPH F. LAMB, performed by Patrick Gogerty (formerly of Bay Area / West Coast psych band The Charlatans). Private press lp released 1974 on micro-imprint Sound Current Records, Los Angeles. Vinyl = vg+; clean and glossy, sound is crisp. Cover = vg+; owner's name is handwritten on the top of the rear board; NO splitting, rubbing or edge wear.
