Description
From a personal collection of rock music from the '70s and '80s. All METICULOUSLY well-kept. No scratches, dings, nicks or even dust on the LPs themselves. Stored in protective anti-static sleeves. Cover is fine as well -- it's a white cardboard sleeve with holes to view the labels. It looks like it's been well-preserved for nearly 30 years.
Radio show from 1983. Based on the cue sheet included with the set, the show aired the weekend of August 5-7, 1983. The shows are obviously from the pre-CD days (I can still remember them -- can you?). The first disc has sides 1 and 3 of the show, while the second disc has sides 2 and 4. Why, well as a DJ at the college radio station in those days (and no, this isn't something I swiped from that station <G>), there were 2 turntables in the studio, and sides 1 and 2 were put onto the respective tables. That way, the DJ could play each side without having to turn over anything yet. After side 1 was played, side 2 would air, and the DJ would flip over the first disc to get ready for side 3. When side 2 was over, he/she would play side 3 and flip over the second disc to get ready for side 4.
There -- you learned something today.
As a radio show, the national commercials are imbedded into the content of the show, meaning that you get to hear great offers from the US Army, Budweiser, Atari (yes!) and Levi's. The cue sheet shows the intro and outro for each of the five segments of the show, with breaks allowed between segments for the local radio station to add its own commercials. The songs for each band are also indicated on the cue sheet. There are ten (10) Fixx songs, and seven (7) for the Thompson Twins. These are:
- One Thing Leads To Another
- Some People
- Liner
- Saved By Zero
- Stand or Fall
- Running
- Reach The Beach
- Lost Planes
- Outside
- Red Skies At Night
- Kamikaze
- Love Lies Bleeding
- Lies
- If You Were Here
- Lucky Day
- In The Name of Love
- Love On Your Side
