Description
“What Time Are You” by Steve Kaczorowski (United Rainbow Artists Records Inc, 20842)
OK, you can skip Rock & Roll Fantasy Camp… for roughly the same price, you can own this: That’s right, folks, here it is: The Holy Grail of outsider records. Steve Kaczorowski, the ultimate rock & roll dreamer with the rarest of the four or five “karaoke rock” records he made. This one has some tantalizing sidemen in the credits. He lists Robert Fripp & Don McLean as having played guitar, Nicky Hopkins on ARP synthesizer, even Elliot Mazer stops by to lay down some guest vocals. Production credits go to “Lou and Steve” for C.A.B. Productions. As the record was supposedly made at Ultra Sonic in Hempstead, Long Island in 1971… we assume he’s referring to Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground! Wowzers!
He credits himself with having written all songs (except he does give co-writing credit to Alvin Lee for his “cover” of “I’d Like To Change The World”). There are “covers” of Deep Purple, The Left Banke, Orpheus, The Web and more. For further mind-blowing reading, see Patrick the Lama & Aaron Milenski’s fascinating exposé here: http://www.lysergia.com/LamaWorkshop/Kacz/lamaKacz.htm
Here’s your one and only chance to own the strangest record on the planet (seriously, I think maybe for or five of these have ever turned up). Very modest reserve.
Condition: Cover = VG+ (all seams fully intact, some aging and scuffs on the sleeve but no splits. The back’s nice and clean so you can read all the fascinating credits) / Record = VG+ (no spindle marks, there are some visible scuffs and hairlines on side 2 but it plays very quietly throughout)
Feel free to email me with any questions.
If you are paying with Paypal, all the info you need (postage rates, packing info, etc.) is as follows:
Records are graded cover/disc, strict and fully guaranteed or full refund (less postage).
Payment preferred: Paypal. Payment must be received in 14 days for domestic orders or 21 days for foreign orders, or I reserve the right to re-list the item.
PACKAGING/SHIPPING/POSTAGE: As I’m VERY careful about keeping LPs in their described condition, I ship all LPs in custom LP mailers and use filler pads. I always pack the disc with the inner-sleeve placed behind cover (both in a plastic slipcover) to prevent seam splitting in transit.
Postage for 1-2 LPs within USA: Media Mail = $4.00 or Priority Postage = $6.50, each additional LP add $2.00 (per LP).
Foreign Postage Rates:
Airmail for Europe/UK = $12.00 for 1 LP, each additional LP add $2.00 (per LP). Surface mail to Europe/UK for 1 LP = $6.50, each additional LP add $1.00 (per LP).
Airmail for Japan/Australia/Asia = $13.00 for 1 LP, each additional LP add $2.00 (per LP). Surface mail to Japan/Australia/Asia for 1 LP = $8.00, each additional LP add $1.00 (per LP).
